Verify an African Bank statement PDF
An applicant banks with African Bank and has sent you a statement. Check whether the PDF shows signs of editing the eye cannot see before you decide. The same checks run on every PDF, whichever bank issued it.
How African Bank clients get and send a statement
African Bank offers statements on more channels than most: Internet Banking, the African Bank App, Cellphone Banking and WhatsApp Banking all list statements as a feature (African Bank: online banking). The online banking menu also has a “Send me statements” option.
That range matters to you. The same statement can reach you as a PDF downloaded from Internet Banking, a file saved from the app, or something shared on from a WhatsApp chat. The closer the file is to the bank’s own channel, the better.
Ask the applicant to download the statement from Internet Banking or the app and send you that PDF. Avoid a photo of a printed page or a screenshot of a chat: a screenshot cannot be uploaded here, and a photo inside a PDF gets a report without a score.
If the African Bank PDF asks for a password
- African Bank does not publish a statement password rule on a page we could verify, so we do not state one. If the statement came by email, the covering message or African Bank’s help guides explain the password.
- A PDF that needs a password to open cannot be checked here. One that opens without a password is checked normally.
- Do not ask the applicant to remove a password for you. Ask them to download the statement again from Internet Banking or the app and send a copy that opens without a password.
- Never ask for the applicant’s banking login, PIN or the code sent to their phone. You need the statement file, nothing more.
Why eyeballing an African Bank statement is not enough
If you see statements from many banks, you cannot know what each one should look like in every detail, and you do not need to. The question that matters is not “does this look like an African Bank statement?” but “was this file changed?”.
That second question has no visual answer. An amount changed on a computer sits on the page as neatly as the rest. A file check looks at the PDF itself and shows signs of editing the eye cannot see.
Check the PDF you were sent
Upload the file exactly as you received it. The result appears on screen in seconds, and your first 3 checks are free once you confirm your email.
Sent a proof of payment rather than a statement? Check it before you release the goods.
African Bank statements: questions
Can an applicant get an African Bank statement on WhatsApp?
African Bank lists statements among the features of WhatsApp Banking, as well as Internet Banking, the app and Cellphone Banking. For a check, ask for the PDF itself rather than a screenshot of the chat.
Is there an African Bank service to confirm a statement?
We did not find a public one. If you have doubts, contact African Bank directly. A file check tells you whether the PDF shows signs of editing. It does not confirm that the bank issued it.
Does Atomara hold an African Bank template?
No. Atomara holds no bank templates and is not connected to African Bank. The same checks run on every PDF, whichever bank issued it.
